Install Robot
The robot is the software that does the work. Install it on the machine you want the automation to run on — that might be your own computer while you are building, and a server or a Raspberry Pi once it is running unattended.

Which machine?
While building, install it on your own computer. You want to watch flows run, and the Designer needs a connected robot before the Run button does anything.
Once it runs unattended, move it to something that stays on — a server, a VPS, or a Raspberry Pi. A robot on your laptop stops working when you close the lid, which is a surprisingly common cause of a schedule that "did not fire".
For unattended installs go straight to Windows VPS or Linux VPS instead of the desktop guides — a server robot wants a robot token rather than your password, and needs a decision about whether it has a display at all.
One robot per machine
A robot is tied to the machine it runs on, and runs one flow at a time. To run flows concurrently, connect more robots — which is what the robot count in your plan or licence governs. See Robot.
